City of Doncaster Council is inviting residents, businesses, community groups, landowners and other stakeholders to help shape the future of the borough by taking part in the first stage of engagement on the new Doncaster Local Plan – Click here to view to Council website page
The consultation, known as the Scoping Consultation, is an early opportunity for people to comment on what the new Local Plan should contain and how the Council should engage with communities, consultation bodies and other stakeholders throughout the plan-making process.
The Local Plan will help guide future development across Doncaster, including matters such as housing, infrastructure, transport, local services, greenspaces and environmental protection.
The consultation opens on Wednesday 19 August 2026 and closes at 5.00pm on Monday 21 September 2026. All comments must be submitted before the deadline.
Residents can view the Scoping Consultation document and submit their representations online via the Council’s New Doncaster Local Plan webpage and online consultation form. Copies of the consultation documents are also available to view at the Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster, DN1 3BU, Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.00pm.
As part of the consultation, individuals can also request to be notified by email when key stages of the new Local Plan take place.
